Fundraising

The Isle of Wight Kidney Patients Association recieves no support from central government and is an entirely voluntary charity run by patients, former patients, their family and friends, dialysis staff and former staff. As such there is a continual need to raise funds to support the work of the charity in assisting Kidney Patients on the Isle of Wight.

These are some of our fundraising activities:

  • quizzes;
  • bridge competitions;
  • collections outside supermarkets;
  • raffles;
  • sponsored marathons, abseilling and sky diving.

These are some of the items and equipment that we have purchased for our local dialysis services:

  • electrocardiogram equipment;
  • blood pressure machines;
  • thermometers;
  • a fax machine;
  • two wheelchairs;
  • a laptop with internet access for patients' use whilst dialysing.

We also provide funding for patients who need to make emergency trips to the mainland.
